Statement of Commitment
CMC Condo Management Corporation ("CMC", "we", "us" or "our") is committed to treating all people in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. We believe in integration and equal opportunity, and we are committed to meeting the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility. We meet our obligations under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA), the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (O. Reg. 191/11) and the Ontario Human Rights Code.

1. Scope
This policy applies to all CMC employees, volunteers and anyone who provides goods, services or facilities on our behalf, including contractors and service providers. It applies to the services we provide to condominium corporations, boards of directors, owners, residents and members of the public, in person, by phone, by email and through this website.

2. Assistive Devices
People with disabilities may use their own personal assistive devices to access our services. Where a barrier exists, we will work with the person to find another way to provide the service.

3. Service Animals
We welcome people with disabilities who are accompanied by a service animal in the areas of our premises that are open to the public. If a service animal is excluded by law from a particular area, we will explain why and offer another way to provide the service. Where it is not readily apparent that an animal is a service animal, we may ask for documentation from a regulated health professional confirming the person needs the animal for reasons related to their disability.

4. Support Persons
A person with a disability who is accompanied by a support person will be allowed to have that person with them in the areas of our premises that are open to the public. We will not charge an admission fee for a support person. Where confidential information is discussed, we may ask the person with a disability to consent to the support person being present.

5. Communication
We will communicate with people with disabilities in ways that take their disability into account. On request, we will provide information and communications, including this policy and documents we issue, in an accessible format or with communication supports, in a timely manner and at no additional cost. We will consult with the person making the request to find a suitable format.

6. Notice of Temporary Disruptions
If there is a planned or unexpected disruption to facilities or services that people with disabilities rely on, such as an elevator, ramp, accessible entrance or door operator at a building we manage, we will post notice as soon as reasonably possible. The notice will include the reason for the disruption, how long it is expected to last and any alternative facilities or services available. Notices will be posted in a visible location on site and, where appropriate, sent to residents by email or through the resident portal.

7. Training
We provide training on accessible customer service, the AODA and the Ontario Human Rights Code as it relates to people with disabilities to all employees and anyone who provides services on our behalf. Training is provided as soon as practicable after a person is hired and when changes are made to this policy. We keep records of the training provided.

8. Employment
We notify employees and the public that accommodations are available for applicants with disabilities throughout the recruitment, assessment and hiring process. On request, we will consult with the applicant and arrange suitable accommodation. We will also provide accommodations, workplace emergency response information and accessible formats to employees with disabilities as needed.

9. Website Accessibility
We are working to make condomanagementcorp.com accessible to as many people as possible, with the goal of meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA. If you have trouble accessing any part of this website, please contact us and we will provide the information in another format.

10. Feedback
We welcome feedback on how we provide accessible services. Feedback can be given in person, by phone, by mail or by email using the contact information below. All feedback will be directed to our management team, and we will respond within a reasonable time, normally within 10 business days. Feedback can be provided in an accessible format on request.

11. Modifications to This or Other Policies
Any CMC policy that does not respect and promote the dignity and independence of people with disabilities will be modified or removed. This policy will be reviewed regularly and updated as needed.
